Two persons wanted in an eight-year-old case of kidnapping and killing were arrested in Doda district of the state, police said on Tuesday.
The two persons, identified as Irshad Ahmed and Mohammad Saleem, were wanted in a case related to the kidnapping and killing of one Hem Raj in Dhara area of the district about eight years ago, a police spokesman said.
The accused alongwith five militants of Hizbul Mujaheedin (HM) outfit had kidnapped Raj from his house and killed him in a High School in Hanch village, he said.
The absconders have been produced in a local court for further legal action, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, police also arrested on Over Ground Worker of militants, Samunder Khan, from Mangota-Marmat area of the district.
Khan acted as a courier and informer for terrorist and used to transport arms and ammunition for them from one place to another. He was taken into custody after police mounted a raid on his house, the spokesman said.
Sixty rounds of AK ammunition were recovered from him, he added.
Khan's only son, Parveez Ahmed, was an active HM terrorist and had surrendered before the authorities about two years back, the spokesman said.
