Four persons were on Wednesday burnt to death and two others seriously injured following a collision involving three trucks near village Gaibipur, about 40 km from Hisar, on Hisar-Chandigarh road.

The injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Hisar and their condition is stated to be critical, police said.

They said the incident occurred when an empty oil tanker coming from Tohana collided head-on with another truck coming from Hisar. A third truck dashed against the two vehicles, which soon caught fire leaving four persons dead on the spot.

Fire tenders from Barwala, Uklana and Hisar controlled the fire, they said, adding that the deceased could not be identified immediately.
