To ensure interaction between candidates and residents, non-political group 'Progressive Residents' from DLF Phase 2 held a session called 'Know Your Candidates' on Saturday. Six of nine candidates from ward No. 34 participated. At least 300 residents got an opportunity to ask questions to the candidates. Each candidate introduced themselves and then sat through the question and answer round. They were given 10 minutes each to make themselves heard.

But when question hour started, the candidates left the venue one by one on various excuses. Some had “important meetings” to attend while others said they had covered whatever was to be asked or answered.

“We wanted to ask questions but they (candidates) showed no interest. If this is how they behave before the elections, I wonder what would happen afterwards,” said a resident.

Only two independent candidates, Amandeep Singh and Kittu Mathur, stayed till the end of the two-hour session to reply to queries thrown at them by residents. Author Shiv Khera was also present. He came to introduce Amandeep Singh.
