4 killed, 17 injured in road accidents in Andhra Pradesh

Four persons were killed and 17 others sustained serious injuries in two separate road accidents on the outskirts of the city and in East Godawari district of Andhra Pradesh today, police said.

Four persons were killed and 17 others sustained serious injuries in two separate road accidents on the outskirts of the city and in East Godawari district of Andhra Pradesh today, police said.

Two occupants of a car died on the spot while three others were critically injured when their vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with an RTC bus at Shamirpet in Hyderabad this evening, police said adding the injured were rushed to a city hospital.

In another incident, two persons were killed and 14 others sustained serious injuries when the tractor-trolley in which they were travelling fell into a canal near Thalamtudi village of East Godawari district this morning, police said.

"The tractor-driver lost control over the vehicle after hitting a culvert after which the vehicle turned turtle and fell into the canal," Kakinada Rural Police Inspector RVSN Murthy said.
