4 killed in head-on collision near Nagpur

A head-on-collision between a matador and a truck killed four pilgrimages and injured five others near Samudrapur in Wardha district, some 60 kms from Nagpur on Sunday morning.

According to reports reaching here on Sunday evening, the deceased have been identified as : Vikas Daff (35), Ashok Lohkare (50), Dinesh Vithoba Kurkarde (48) and Bhashkar Choudhary (38), all from Jhingabai Takli of Nagpur. They were returning from Girad, a pilgrimage, in Wardha district.

It was said that the , Matador, carrying the pilgrimage, went out of control and struck an oncoming vehicle.

All the injured were admitted to the government run Medical College and Hospital at Nagpur where two of them reported to be very serious, the reports said.

The truck driver fled from the scene along with the vehicle, immediately after the accident, Wardha police said.
