Philips India, plans to increase its exclusive touch points, a combination of shop-in-shops and light lounges to 450 from the present 185 by the year end, said Nirupam Sahay, Senior Director, Marketing, Philips Lighting.
He said there will be a mix of 400 shop-in-shops and 50 Light Lounges and it will be a combination of both company- owned and franchisee model.
Light lounges are experience zones which give customers a 'see, touch and feel' experience of a diverse range of world-
class home decorative lighting concepts from Philips, like Living Colors, Ecomoods, Kidsplace, Ledino and Aquafit.
"The size of our light lounges ranges from 800 sq.ft. –2000 sq.ft. In line with the continued company-wide focus on consumer lighting, Philips has rapidly increased and will increase its retail presence across important cities in India in the last one year," Sahay said.
According to him, the new Light Lounges that were unveiled in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam two days ago were part of the company's strategy to further consolidate its strong retail presence in Andhra Pradesh.
Without disclosing the new products that are in the pipeline, Sahay said the company would continue to innovate new products and lighting solutions.
"Philips has more than tripled its range of decorative home lighting solutions from 150 decorative home lights to over 500 and we have plans to expand this range further. All these products are available at all our Light Lounges across the country," Sahay said.
