Police arrested 47 suspected Taliban in Quetta city of Balochistan province, which borders Afghanistan, Dawn newspaper said on Wednesday.
Police chief Salman Syed was quoted by the newspaper as saying the suspects had illegally crossed into Pakistan from bordering Afghanistan a week ago.
"They are the real Taliban. Police raids will continue to arrest any Taliban who come to Pakistan," he said.
After interrogation, the arrested Taliban would be handed over to Afghan authorities, he said, adding, "at the moment I cannot say if there are any wanted Taliban leaders among them".
Afghan government and NATO forces fighting Taliban insurgents in southern Afghanistan have alleged that Quetta served as a base and haven for their enemy.
Dawn said officials also confirmed the arrest of 77 Afghans from Turbat town of Balochistan who were planning to cross into Iran.
