A total of 52 candidates are in fray in three constituencies of Marathwada region for ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
A total of 22 candidates have filed nominations from Nanaded constituency while in Hingoli 11 candidates, including Union Minister for Rural Development, Suryakanta Patil, will contest. Parbhani Lok Sabha constituency of the region will have 19 candidates in fray.
Congress has fielded Bhaskarrao Patil Khatagaonkar, the brother in law of Maharashtra Chief Minister, Ashok Chavan.
All the three constituencies are likely to see direct fight between the Congress, NCP and RPI candidates and the Shiv Sena- BJP alliance.
Nanded will see a fight between Khatagaonkar and Sambhaji Pawar of the Saffron alliance.
Voters of Parbhani will have to choose between Suresh Warpudkar of NCP and his political guru Ganesh Dodhgaonkar of Sena, while Suryakanta Patil will lock horns with the Sena candidate Subash Wankhede in Hingoli constituency.
