6 more bodies found, Assam toll rises to 43

Six bodies were recovered from four places in Beki river in Baksa district in Assam on Wednesday where armed miscreants commited mayhem on night of Friday, police official said. With the recovery of six more bodies, the death toll in BTC violence has gone up to 43.

Normalcy returned to the violence-affected districts of Baksa and Kokrajhar under Bodoland Territorial Council ( BTC) in Assam with no untoward incident was reported in last 72 hours.

AP Raut , additional DG ( Law and Order) said that situation in Baksa and Kokrajhar remained peaceful on Wednesday with no untoward incident reported from the districts even after relaxation of curfew.

Curfew was relaxed for entire day in all the three districts – Baksa , Kokrajhar and Chirang.

Raut said that security forces deployed in the area continued their operations in all the areas of BTAD.
