62 officers complete course at MCTE

A CONVOCATION ceremony for the batches of Signal Officers Degree Engineering Course and Technical Entry Scheme Course was held at Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) in Mhow on Saturday.

A CONVOCATION ceremony for the batches of Signal Officers Degree Engineering Course and Technical Entry Scheme Course was held at Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) in Mhow on Saturday.

Lieutenant General S P Sree Kumar was the chief guest. Lieutenant General Kumar presented degrees to 62 officers of both courses on the occasion.

He said that with use of advanced systems of optical fibre, troposcatter and satellite communication the Corps of Signals had made great progress in conducting low-density conflict operations.

MCTE Officiating Commandant Major General G S Aulakh presided over the programme. The chief guest also presented parchments and awards to meritorious officers.

Major Ashish Nagaich won the Chief’s gold medal in overall  order of merit in Signal    Officer Course. Major Ashish Awasthi was awarded Commandant’s    silver medal and Major Deepak Sharma was awarded    Chief Instructor’s bronze medal for standing second and third in overall order of merit respectively.

Major Ashish Awasthi won ITI trophy and silver medal for standing first in system group of subjects and Commandant’s silver medal for standing first in IT group of subjects.

The syndicate comprising Major Nagaich, Major Santanu Das, Major John Mathew and Major Prashant Malik was awarded Commandant’s bronze medal for best project ‘Laptop Based Digital Oscilloscope’ in final semester.

For the other course, Chief’s trophy and Signal Office in Chief’s gold medal were awarded to Lieutenant Anirudh Agarwal. Lieutenant Pranav Kumar Opel was awarded Commandant’s silver medal and Lieutenant Apurva Agrawal was awarded Chief Instructor’s bronze medal for standing second and third in overall order of merit, respectively.

Lieutenant Anirudh Agarwal was awarded AVAYA Global Connect Trophy and silver medal for standing first in system group of subjects. Lieutenant Apurva Agrawal was awarded ITI silver medal for standing second in the same group.

Lieutenant Uday Bhan Dubey received BEL trophy and silver medal for securing first rank in radio group of subjects and Lieutenant Manojit Sinha won Commandant’s silver medal for being the topper in IT group of subjects.

The syndicate comprising Lieutenant Manojit Sinha, Lieutenant Abhinibesh Sharma, Lieutenant Saurabh Hoon and Lieutenant Ankush Sharma was awarded Commandant’s bronze medals for best project on ‘Iris recognition system’ in their final semester. MCTE Commander faculty Brigadier P K Bhatia proposed the vote of thanks.
