IN ALL 676 villages of Indore district will be made Nirmal Grams in 2007, where each house will have a dry toilet. This is against 34 villages that were made Nirmal Grams last year.
This information was provided at the meeting of revenue officers presided over by Divisional Commissioner Ashok Das at the Commissionerate on Wednesday. Indore District Collector Vivek Aggarwal and Dhar District Collector R K Gupta were also present.
Revenue matters were discussed at length at the meeting. The meeting was informed that Indore district had recovered Rs 4.35 crore as diversion tax so far while another sum of Rs 4 crore would be recovered by March-end. Similarly, the district has made bank recovery of Rs 9 crore and a sum of Rs 4 crore would be recovered by March 2007.
The Divisional Commissioner has directed officers to speed up recovery of Mandi tax and other revenues. He asked them to remove encroachments from Nazul land and temples and make night halts in villages. About 200 health centre buildings will be constructed this year, an official release issued here said.
