7 killed as dumper hits rickshaw in Maharashtra

Seven persons were killed on the spot when the auto-rickshaw, in which they were travelling, was hit by a speeding dumper this morning near Aurangabad in Maharashtra, police said.

The incident took place on Aurangabad-Paithan Road near Dhakephal village at 7.30 am, they said.

The deceased have been identified as Shaikh Nisar (20), Mohhammed Iqbal Ansari (22), Mohammed Irfan Ansari (32), Shaikh Qadeer (60), Haji Mohammed Abbas (65), Abdul Karim Ansari (70) and Abdul Salam Ansari (72).

The victims were returning to Aurangabad after attending a religious event.

Two others, who were injured in the incident, have been hospitalised, police said.
