70 year old man dies as ambulance stranded in protest

A 70 year old man died after the ambulance in which he was being brought to a hospital in Ambala from a village in the district was caught in the traffic jam followingthe Chakka Jam protest.

A 70 year old man died after the ambulance in which he was being brought to a hospital in Ambala from a village in the district was caught in the traffic jam followingthe Chakka Jam protest on Tangri bridge, about 10 km from Ambala, on the Mullana-Ambala road on Wednesday.

The victim identified as Gainda Ram, a resident of Nohni village in Mullana sub-division was being brought to the Civil Hospital in Ambala Cantt in an ambulance which got struck for around 90 minutes, police sources said in Ambala.

The protestors of various organizations, including VHP and BJP, did not allow the ambulance to move ahead despite requests
from those accompanying the victim in the vehicle; the sources said adding that lack of timely medical aid resulted in the old.
