Sureshchandra Agarwal (71), a resident of Vashi fell to his death from the terrace of his building Tuesday morning.
Police registered a case of accidental death.
The incident occurred at around 9.30 am at Reshma Cooperative Housing Society situated in Sector 9A of Vashi. Agarwal fell from the terrace of the two-storey building.
While there were initial reports of Agarwal having committed suicide because of family problems, the police have denied it.
Raosaheb Sardesai, a senior police inspector of Vashi police station said, "Agarwal was a heart patient and had been advised daily walks. According to his family, he had taken around 4-5 rounds of the terrace, when he felt a little discomfort and sat on the terrace boundary wall."
Added Sardesai, "He then accidentally fell from the wall and succumbed to his injuries."
Police are awaiting the post mortem report of the deceased. Agarwal is survived by his wife and married sons.
