MONDAY CLOCKED itself as the coldest day of this season so far, with temperatures plummeting to 8.2 degree Celsius. According to the met department, the lowest temperature was 2 degree Celsius less than normal whereas the daytime temperature was 3 degree more than normal, being recorded at 28.9 degree Celsius.
In the past 24 hours the weather condition in the State has remained dry and cold due to the northern climes experiencing an intense cold wave. A decrease in nighttime temperature was recorded in Indore, Ujjain and Hoshangabad divisions, while minute change was recorded in other divisions of the State.
The average temperature was less than normal in Indore and Bhopal divisions, while it remained normal for other divisions. The lowest nighttime temperature in the State, 7 degree Celsius, was recorded in Ujjain and Raisen divisions.
The cold wave experienced in the City has made people wear warm clothing all day long and spend time indoors, especially during the evening. The cold and foggy conditions in the north continue to effect trains and flights, which are coming in late.
