Eight people were injured in a clash between two groups after a child was hit by a motorcycle in Kuli bazaar area here, police said today.
The incident happened last night when a child was injured by three motorcyclists. Following the incident, the locals beat them up, Senior Superintendent of Police Hariram Sharma said.
The situation got worsened when it was found that the boys were also involved in eve-teasing incidents and led to a clash between two groups, he said.
The groups indulged in stone pelting and and used local bombs on each other. However, the situation was immediately brought under control.
The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital, the SSP said, adding, police and PAC personnel have been deployed in the area..
A hunt is on to nab the people involved in the clash, he said.
