Over 800 hundred students of both, primary and secondary schools, of Mahatma Phule Education Trust at Dharavi, Sion took out a rally with 50 teachers on Thursday.

The procession started from the school and made its way around the area with students sporting national flags, and black ribbons tied on the hands. “While imparting education to the students, we want them to be imbibed with morals and social conditions of our country,” said principal Veena Donwalkar.

The students displayed different placards and shouted slogans. “The students were enthusiastic to support Hazare and shouted slogans loudly saying ‘We are with you Hazare’. The students expressed the feeling that even after 64 years of independence, we are under the slavery of a corrupt government,” added Donwalkar.

Students of all four mediums of instruction—Marathi, Hindi, English and Urdu were present. “It is important that the students who are the country’s future know about corruption and be prepared to tackle it,” said Pramod Mane, trustee, Mahatma Phule Education Trust.
