As many as 900 rallies and public gatherings have been held across Jammu and Kashmir since the beginning of the poll process in the state.
Of these 37 were mega election rallies, including 16 held in the four districts which are going to the polls in the first phase on November 17, an official spokesman said here today.
These rallies include 9 in Poonch, 4 in Bandipora, 2 in Kargil and 1 in Leh district, he said.
In all, 233 election rallies were held in the 10 assembly constituencies going to polls in the first phase, he said, adding these include 177 in Bandipora, 46 in Poonch, 7 in Kargil and 3 in Leh.
In Bandipora district, Congress party held 6 public meetings, PDP 45, NC 35, BJP 6, NPP 3, BSP 1, PDF 4, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party 3, ANC 4, Lok Janshakti 8, RJD 2, PNF 32, SP 6, AI 5, AIFB 1 and independents 16, he said.
Similarly, out of 46 public meetings in Poonch, 13 of these were organised by Congress, 16 by PDP, 9 by NC, 2 by NPP, 1 by BSP, 2 by SP and 3 by independent candidates, he added.
In Kargil district, out of the 7 rallies, Congress organised 2, NC 3, ANC and independents one each, he said, adding out of the three rallies in Leh district, two were organised by Congress and 1 by LUTF.
