A cattle-rearer as a school head master?
It happened at a government primary school at Surgaon Banjari village under Punasa block when its head master ‘appointed’ a cattle-rearer to run the school in his absence.
The cattle rearer, identified as Pratap (16), was not only controlling the schoolchildren but also the other teachers of the school, as he was being paid for the headmaster’s job in place of Godia Chakre, who was the government-appointed headmaster.
Chakre used to pay Pratap from his pocket for representing him in the school during his absence, District Education Officer (DEO) R .N. Upadhyaya told reporters on Friday.
When the matter came to light following a complaint that the headmaster was not coming to school for a longer period, the DEO inquired into the matter and found that Pratap was not only running the school but also was dictating other teachers.
Taking the issue seriously, the DEO suspended Godia Chakre and attached him to the office of the Block Education Office at Punasa.
