A haven for the corrupt

With reference to the report Punjab judge found guilty by Supreme Court (June 8), the devil of corruption is taking over the country while the ruling party is busy celebrating its unexpected victory, and the Opposition is introspecting. During the tenure of the late P. Narasimha Rao as Prime Minister, the threat of impeachment of a sitting judge of the Supreme Court passed without action, under the blessings of the then PM, and the proposal was turned down as it could not muster the support of two-third MPs. Again, the Union Government is not allowing prosecution. So, if someone expects a fair deal from politicians, he can safely be called a day-dreamer. I wonder who will save this country now.
