Ashok Kumar Foundation, a registered trust formed in the memory of the legendary actor, is organising a charity concert on June 3, 2006. The concert called 'Geeton Bhari Shaam - Dadamoni Ke Naam', will take place at the NCPA in Mumbai.

Pop singer Usha Uthup will render memorable hits of Dadamoni during the musical event.

The fund raised by the foundation will be utilised for the various social service initiatives taken up by the trust.

The musical evening will pay a tribute to the King of the Silent Era, the man who towered for almost 60 years over Indian cinema. The show will feature songs like Main Ban Ki Chidiya... the late actor sang for Achut Kanya.

The show will take its audiences through the legend's favourite songs from his movies. The legendary actor was the first ever rap singer in India, who sang the memorable Rail gaadi, chuk chuk … in the film Aashirwad. At this time Indians never knew what RAP was all about. But the way the actor gave his heart to the song, it still lingers in the heart of the listeners. The highlight of the evening will be a song to be rendered by the fourth generation children of Ashok Kumar family. This will include the sons of actors Kanwaljeet and Anooradha Singh.
