SpaHow about throwing a party that’s going to leave you refreshed, relaxed and ready to throw another one? If this sounds perfect after all these days of partying hard, then you just have to throw (read invite) yourself a trendy spa party.

“It’s the perfect party to go to with your girlfriends. You can get relaxing manicures and pedicures while gossiping nineteen to the dozen,” says marketing executive Shraddha Arora, who attended a spa party at Aura last week. “We’ve decided to make this a monthly party, with each of us hosting it at a different spa.”

In Delhi, spas like Amatrra, Chandan Sparsh, Bubble Lounge, Zen Serena Spa and even Talwalkars and Spa Soul at Galaxy Hotel offer group packages priced between Rs 6,000 and Rs 25,000 per person, depending on the treatments chosen. The most popular treatments for a spa party are manicures, pedicures and facials. They are generally ‘express’ versions of regular treatments that last for twenty minutes or so.

“Usually those who want to come as a group give us a detailed list of what they want,” says a masseuse at Chandan Sparsh. “Things like hot-oil treatments, aromatherapy massages, body scrubs are also very popular, since these are things the group can sit around and do.”

Spas also arrange culinary demonstrations by in-house chefs to cater to these parties, and offer ‘soul food’ that they recommend is cleansing and detoxifying. Cucumber water, fruit pâté and cold finger food are just of the things that spa-party regulars highly recommend. If you’re the kind who’d like to add an edgy fitness session into your package, several spas also encourage yoga or a Pilates session with an instructor. All you have to do is show up with things like eye pillows and a good quality shampoo to enjoy the party.

But if you feel like spending less, you can organise the party at home. Just hire masseurs and beauty technicians to come home and give manicures, pedicures, massages, mini-facials and make-up. You just have to tell everyone to bring their own robes and specific beauty products and you’re good to go.
