A tragic memory returns

Adnan Patrawala, a 16-year-old Lokhandwala Complex resident, was killed on August 19, 2007, by three men he befriended on social networking site Orkut. HT Correspondent reports.

Adnan Patrawala, a 16-year-old Lokhandwala Complex resident, was killed on August 19, 2007, by three men he befriended on social networking site Orkut.

Sujith Nair (28), Ayush Bhatt (19) and Himmesh Ambawat (18) allegedly kidnapped Patrawala and asked his parents for a ransom of Rs 2 crore. But, when hey learnt that news of the kidnapping was being broadcast on television, they panicked, strangled him and dumped his body in Navi Mumbai’s marshes.

Police suspected the trio kidnapped Patrawala to sustain their expensive lifestyles.
