AAP footprints in Uttar Pradesh

The landslide victory of the Aam Aadmi Party in the Delhi assembly elections has galvanized the party cadre in the state after its dismal performance in the last Lok Sabha elections.

Although its recent feat in Delhi has been the talking point all over, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) failed to secure any seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Eight months later, the party has traced footprints in different parts of the state.

Turns out as many as 11 AAP candidates, who tasted victory in the unforgettable Delhi assembly elections, have roots in UP.

The landslide victory of the Aam Aadmi Party in the Delhi assembly elections has galvanized the party cadre in the state after its dismal performance in the last Lok Sabha elections.

The district spokesperson of the Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Mishra, told Hindustan Times, “The victory of AAP in Delhi has prepared the ground for alternative politics in UP as well.”

“The scenario in UP is no different from Delhi as people wish to get rid of corruption and want development in the state,” Mishra added.
