The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday expressed shock at the opinion of the Solicitor General (SG) who had said the FIR registered by the AAP government in connection with the gas price hike scam was illegal.
Calling it a “desperate attempt by the Congress-led UPA government” to influence the ongoing investigation into the multi-crore natural gas price hike scam by Delhi government’s anti-corruption branch, the AAP said, “the opinion by a central government’s law officer is shocking and clearly establishes collusion between the petroleum ministry and Reliance Industries Ltd, which is aimed at providing this company an unjustified gain of Rs 54,500 crore every year.”
SG Mohan Parasaran has reportedly held that the FIR registered by the ACB of the former Delhi government alleging collusion between the Central government functionaries and Reliance Industries limited was illegal and that the government and the parties involved could approach the court to get the FIR quashed.
Although the party’s official reaction came on Sunday, Kejriwal had earlier tweeted: “In how many FIRs till now, since Independence, the opinion of the solicitor general is sought?”
