The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) questioned Dr Anita Durani on Friday in connection with the Noida double murder case.
The Noida police had alleged that Durani, a family friend of Talwars, had an extra-marital affair with Dr Rajesh Talwar, something Aarushi and Hemraj were aware of.
Sources said the agency is trying to retrieve some photographs from Aarushi’s digital camera, which had been deleted. “Around 28 pictures were taken using the camera out of which around 18 had been deleted. We are trying to retrieve the photos, which could provide us some leads,” a source said.
Meanwhile, Talwar’s bail application, supposed to come up for hearing on Saturday, has now been fixed for June 10. The hearing could not take place due to the unavailability of CBI public prosecutor Suresh Batra, the defence counsel said. The working at the Ghaziabad court also remained affected due to the lawyers’ strike.
The agency on Saturday continued its search for the murder weapon in the drains in Noida. Sanitary supervisor S.K. Sharma said, “As per CBI directions, we removed the slabs over the drain in front of L block where Talwars’ live. Fifteen workers started work at 10 am and completed the work by 3 pm.”
“We have been asked to cooperate with CBI officials and do whatever they tell us. Today, we were told to clean the front drain. W removed the silt from the drain. CBI officials searched for objects in it,” said Sharma.
