REITERATING ITS stand that the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad leaders were being implicated in the murder of Prof H S Sabharwal owing to ‘pressure by the Congress in connivance with an electronic media channel’, the State unit of the organisation on Sunday announced a phased agitation from September 4 to protest against entire sequence of events and to demand release of its leaders.

The decision to hold the agitation was taken at a meeting of the organisation here. The ABVP decided to ‘lay bare the conspiracy of the Congress’. In this direction, demonstrations would be held at district headquarters on September 4.

On September 5, teachers’ felicitation functions would be organised. A signature campaign would be conducted on September 6, demonstration would be organised on September 8 while colleges across the State would be closed down on September 11. On September 21, demonstrations would be held at divisional headquarter level.

Meanwhile, the ABVP deferred its agitation planned earlier against commercialisation of education and other issues. On September 4 in Bhopal, State ABVP secretary Bharat Parakh would hold a hunger strike in front of the residence of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan to demand release of the ‘innocent’ workers of the organisation.
