Both Durga Shakti Nagpal and Ashok Khemka, the Indian Administrative Service or IAS officers who opposed corruption in their state and faced action from the political class, have been called on central deputation by the Narendra Modi government, a report said.
They may be posted in the Prime Minister's Office within the next two-three weeks.
Khemka, a 1991-batch officer who had initiated an inquiry into alleged irregularities in land deals of Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra, is currently posted in the Haryana government's department of archives.
He has been transferred over 40 times in 23 years by various governments in Haryana.
Nagpal, an officer of the 2010 batch, had incurred the wrath of the Uttar Pradesh government for ordering the wall of a place of worship demolished in Kadalpur village in the state.
