The Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on Sunday said that action would be taken against Vice Chancellor Lucknow University RP Singh.
Yadav said Governor-Chancellor TV Rajeswar and Vice Chancellor had been working at the behest of Congress-led UPA government. The chief minister said the VC had accused university girls of prostitution and if it was proved wrong action would be taken against him.
Addressing a conference on 21st death anniversary of socialist leader Raj Narain at the party headquarters here on Sunday Yadav said Singh had given affidavit in this connection in the High Court.
The chief minister said vice chancellor had been trying to defame the state. Yadav said Singh's statement that state government was not helping the university was politically motivated. Yadav said VC's statement against girls was in bad taste and it would be probed. In case the charges were not proved action would be taken against the VC.
The chief minister also assailed the Congress for its ineffective stand on Saddam Hussein issue. Condemning the hanging of Hussein, Yadav said the Congress did not oppose the hanging.
The chief minister also announced to organise black day on January 4 on Saddam's hanging all over the country. Yadav said it was cold-blooded murder at the instance of the US.
Dubbing the US as world biggest Mafiosi, the chief minister said Saddam was trusted friend of India and international community should think over the killing of deposed Iraqi President.
He said Saddam was a socialist leader. The senior vice president Janeswar Mishra also assailed the LU VC for his statement.
Interestingly the chief minister also targeted PWD Minister and SP general secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav for delay in the construction work of Lohia trust in Etawah.
He said the responsibility was given to Shivpal for the work. Yadav also inaugurated Raj Narain trust. Yadav called upon the people to follow ideology of Raj Narain.
