Film star Ambareesh and BY Raghavendra, son of Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, were among the prominent candidates who filed their nominations on Thursday.
Congress candidate Ambareesh filed his papers from Mandya and BJP’s Raghavendra from Shimoga.
The other prominent nominations include JDS nominee Cheluvaraya Swamy for Mandya Lok Sabha seat and state unit BJP chief DV Sadananda Gowda from Udupi-Chickmagalur.
A total of 236 persons have filed their nominations for the 11 Lok Sabha seats that will go to polls during the second phase on April 30 in the state, election office sources said. On the last day of filing of nominations on Thursday, 114 nomintaions were received, the sources said.
Of this a maximum of 36 nominations were received from Davangere constituency and lowest of 13 from Udupi-Chickmagalur.
Scrutiny of nominations will be done on April 11 while last date for withdrawal is April 13.
