The MCD panel took the decision following a demand by Councillors for renewal of licences of such commercial establishments.
In the wake of the new legislation putting a halt to the demolition and sealing drives in the capital for a period of one year, the MCD on Wednesday decided to issue ad-hoc licences to commercial establishments operating in residential areas.
The decision to issue ad-hoc licences to the already existing commercial establishments that can continue functioning as per the Central legislation for a period of one year was taken at a meeting of the MCD's Standing Committee.
The MCD panel took the decision following a demand by Councillors for renewal of licences of such commercial establishments in the wake of the new law.
The civic body has already de-sealed 7750 shops and offices sealed by it in pursuance of a Supreme Court order.
