The Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner, PC Meena, on Thursday asked the officials of various departments to take stern measures against unauthorised constructions.

Meena directed the District Town Planner (Enforcement) to lodge complaints against the encroachers and demolish all illegal constructions.

A case of negligence will also be filed against those officials who fail to take action in their areas. During a meeting of the District Task Force (DTF) for removing encroachments, Meena said that unauthorised constructions would not be tolerated, be it near the ammunition depot of Indian Air Force (IAF) or along the roads. After being pulled up by the Punjab and Haryana High Court for allowing illegal constructions in the prohibited zone, the state government decided to demarcate such areas.

Meena said that he has even provided the officials concerned with the details of the land where illegal habitations were mushrooming.

He also asked the tehsildars not to register sale deeds of plots in unauthorised colonies. Meena directed the tehsildars to call a meeting of all patwaries and ask them to send details about illegal constructions in their areas.

Similarly, the onus of removing encroachments in the restricted belt along the scheduled roads was of PWD department. In Huda acquired land or residential sectors, the responsibility to prevent encroachments and to demolish illegal constructions is on Huda. The Municipal Corporation Gurgaon (MCG) and Municipal Committees of Sohna, Farukhnagar, Pataudi, Hailey Mandi are responsible for their areas.

About earlier registered cases of encroachment, the deputy commissioner has asked the ACPs Tahir Hussain and Surinder Singh about the progress of action taken.
