Police raided a godown in Domana area of Jammu and recovered adulterated desi ghee, a senior police officer said.
Speaking to PTI, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Manohar Singh on Thursday said that acting on a tip-off, police raided a godown in Domana area of the city and recovered 4,932 kilogram of adulterated ghee. Two traders Naresh Kumar and Tarsem Lal were also arrested.
Singh said that adulterated ghee was packed in packings of well-known brands and was purchased by the accused from Delhi through a middleman, he said adding that it was meant for supply to Rajouri and Poonch districts.
Police had also recovered 550 tins of adulterated desi ghee from the possession of Naresh and Tarsem on July 14.
The SSP said that a team will be sent to Delhi for further investigation.
