Senior BJP leader LK Advani tonight denied making a comment to the effect that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was "not heir-apparent" to him in the party and termed media reports in this regard as "baseless interpretation."

"I have learnt that Outlook magazine has issued a press release today based on a short interaction with me in which I am quoted as saying that Narendra Modi is not my heir-apparent," Advani said reacting to the interview to the weekly.

"I have said nothing of this kind and this is a baseless interpretation of my remarks," the BJP leader added.
