BJP leader LK Advani today assured leaders of the Sangh Parivar that he would take up with the Centre the issue of brutal murder of workers of various Hindu outfits in Tamil Nadu.
Representatives of the BJP, RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Hindu Munnani, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) met Advani at Salem and requested him that the issue be taken up with the central government, party sources said in Coimbatore.
Advani told the delegation that he strongly condemned the attacks and assured it that he would take up the matter with the government.
Advani had yesterday termed as a "grim tragedy" the murder of Tamil Nadu BJP General Secretary V Ramesh on July 19, and slammed the "rise" in incidents of attacks on members of saffron outfits.
The former deputy prime minister left for Bangalore by a special flight, from where he would go to Pune.
