Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Tuesday condemned attacks that killed over 100 people in Mumbai, saying Afghanistan had suffered from terrorism for years.
"This terrorist act is shocking and despicable. It is aimed at killing innocent civilians and I condemn it in the strongest terms," Karzai said in a statement.
The Afghan people send their sympathies to the people of India, he said.
"Afghans have suffered at the hands of terrorists for many years and understand the pain and suffering that terrorism causes. My thoughts are with the families of the victims and those injured."
There are nearly daily attacks in Afghanistan by terrorists from the extremist Taliban movement that has been waging an insurgency since being removed from power in late 2001.
