Two days after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Rewari, the declaration by state party leader Capt Abhimanyu as the state’s future chief minister has created a flutter in the party.

With a photograph of Capt Abhimanyu, national spokesperson for the BJP, shaking hands with Modi at the Rewari rally, a Facebook account “Captain Abhimanyu CM for Haryana” hails Modi as the future prime minister and Abhimanyu as the future chief minister.

However, announcing the alliance with the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) as rock solid, leader of opposition Sushma Swaraj had declared state party president Ram Bilas Sharma as the chief minister candidate from the party if the BJP-HJC was voted to power.

The declaration of future chief minister on the social networking site drew sharp remarks from Facebook users. Some termed it a sign of change after the anointment of Modi at the helm of affairs, while others called it an attempt to create confusion among leaders of the state BJP, which is already riddled with speculations on the future course of alliance with the HJC.

The social networking site also remained abuzz with the “alienation” of HJC (BL) supremo Kuldeep Bishnoi at the rally.

Despite Bishnoi's party holding special importance owing to its alliance with the state BJP, he was denied the opportunity to address the public in the presence of Modi.
