THE STATE Government today relieved 1972 batch IAS officer Vinod Choudhary of the responsibilities of Secretary Planning, Economics and Statistics Department and that of Secretary, State Planning Board.
The dual charges were assigned to Manoj Jhalai along with his present responsibilities as Secretary, Mining and Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh State Mining Development Corporation.
Never in the past an officer below the rank of Principal Secretary was given the charge of Secretary, State Planning Board. Additional Chief Secretary rank officer Choudhary’s responsibilities were confined to 20-Point Implementation, Grievance Redressal, Biodiversity and Biotechnology departments.
Other Backward Classes Commissioner Veera Rana was appointed Secretary in the General Administration Department. She will replace Alka Upadhyaya, who left for the US on a 10-month study leave. Thus, the practice of posting a woman IAS officer in the GAD continues.
Higher Education Commissioner S D Agrawal was appointed Secretary, Home, in place of Ashish Upadhyaya, who has gone on a study tour to the US.
Town and Country Planning Director, Disaster Management Executive Director and Secretary Housing Environment S N Mishra was replaced by Ratlam Collector Deepti Gaud Mukerjee. She, in turn, was replaced by MP Board of Secondary Education secretary J N Malpani. SC Regional Development Schemes Director V K Batham was given the additional charge of Director, OBC.
