MS Ahlawat was the first joint commissioner of police (JCP) of Gurgaon. He took charge on November 20, 2007. During his stint as JCP till May 15, 2009, he was a media-savvy senior police official.
He used to hold large press conferences, comprising both national and international journalists. He was known as his quick remarks and his ability to face the media, especially in the murder case of Delhi ACP and shooter Rajbir Singh.
Ahlawat was succeeded by Alok Mittal, while Ahlawat moved to Haryana State Vigilance Bureau as IG and later to the Indian Reserve Battalion in a similar capacity.
