MORE THAN 300 activists of All-India Kisan Mazdoor Sabha (AIKMS) demonstrated at the Newada block in Kaushambi on Friday to press for their various demands In a press release, convenor of the rally Phoolchand Nisad said that the demands included electrical connection in Jalalpur, Madaripur, Gohti and Tarapur villages, getting these villages included in Allahabad district instead
of Kaushambi, installation of an irrigation tube-well in the area, fairness in distribution of pension and ration cards and appointment of the four vacant posts of teachers in Jalalpur school which has only one teacher out of two posts.

He said that Jalalpur, Madaripur, Gohti and Tarapur had electric connections till 4 years back but the wires broke in a storm after which due to political disinterest  and administrative callousness the department has failed  to reconnect the wires. The BDO promised to ensure that the reconnection was done immediately.

He said the BDO also promised to send the recommendation of transferring these villages to Allahabad district to the Governor through proper channel.

These are the only villages in the entire area, which are administratively under Kaushambi district and for crime purposes under Kareli police station, which falls under Allahabad district.

He claimed that the BDO promised to get one Shiksha Mitra appointed on the four vacant posts in Jalalpur school and informed the workers that in this block alone 250 posts were lying vacant. He said the government has no plan to appoint regular teachers.
