AIR INDIA beat Haryana Colts by 25 runs in the first semifinal of the Goswami Ganesh Dutt tournament at the St. Stephen's ground.

It was the fourth wicket partnership of 138 between Shafiq Khan (76 off 74 balls) and Deepak Joon (61 off 69 balls) that helped Air India manage 226 for 8 in 40 overs. Joon then picked up two wickets to land the Man-of-the-Match award.

For the Colts, Haryana Ranji player Vishal Sahani (74) was the mainstay but was undone by lack of support and the team was dismissed for 201.

Malviya win

In the Lala Girdhari 20-20 Cup at the Bharat Nagar ground, Malviya Club 130 for 8 in 20 overs (P. Thakur 56, S. Yadav 20*) beat Malik Sports 117 in 18 overs (M.J. Lohiya 45; P. Thakur 5-8) by 13 runs.

In another match, West Delhi 93 in 18 overs (A. Jain 36; N. Aggrawal 3-16, A. Thakur 2-20) lost to L.B. Shastri 97 for 3 in 19 overs (T. Jain 42*) by 7 wkts.
