In a move that could pave the way for the targeted October launch of AirAsia India, the home ministry has given the requisite security clearance to the proposed low-cost airline and its board members.

As per procedure, the names of all foreign nationals on board of AirAsia India had been sent by the aviation ministry to home ministry for security clearance.

AirAsia India would now need a no objection certificate followed by an airline operator’s permit or licence from the aviation ministry and the directorate general of civil aviation respectively.

Aviation experts believe that if the process is fast-tracked, AirAsia India could be take-off much before October.
