Laxman Yadav, a suspect in a spate of robberies and murder of a former airhostess on Tuesday night, was on Friday sent to eight-day police remand by the Chief Judicial Magistrate. Senior Prosecution Officer AK Srivastava said, "Laxman Yadav (27) alias Lachhi alias Jatinder had surrendered on Thursday in another case. The police had sought his remand to probe his involvement in the murder of Sheeba Thomas and attempted murder of a retired army officer who was shot at and critically injured during a robbery.” IGP (Meerut) VK Gupta and Deputy IGP (Meerut) Vijay Kumar are meanwhile camping at Noida to supervise the investigations.
