All three int'l airports in Kerala are put on high alert after an anonymous caller claimed that a bomb on a Dubai-Kerala flight was set to go off.

All three international airports in Kerala were on Tuesday put on high alert after an anonymous caller claimed that a bomb on a Dubai-Kerala flight was set to go off.

Kerala has three international airports - in Kochi, Kozhikode and state capital Thiruvananthapuram - and over a dozen flights from the Middle East are scheduled for the day.

Senior police official Arun Kumar Sinha said the call came to a police station in Mangalore, which informed the Central Industrial Security Force office - in charge of security in the three airports.

"The security has been beefed up and we are leaving nothing to chance. Elaborate screening of all people inside the airports is going on and vehicles arriving into the three airports are also being checked," Sinha said.

"Already an incoming flight from Doha has been fully checked here," he added.
