Akhand Dhara, Sarafa, Jai Bhavani Club register win

AKHAND DHARA, Sarafa XI and Jai Bhavani Club won their respective matches in the floodlit tennis ball cricket tournament for Agniban Trophy played at Usha Raje Cricket grounds on Thursday night.

AKHAND DHARA, Sarafa XI and Jai Bhavani Club won their respective matches in the floodlit tennis ball cricket tournament for Agniban Trophy played at Usha Raje Cricket grounds on Thursday night.

Batting first, Akhand Dhara scored 98 in 10 overs against Khandwa Naka. Bunty and Chintu batted well for their team and scored 26 and 22 runs respectively. In reply, Khandwa Naka XI made 44 runs and lost the match without giving any fight.

The interesting match of the night was played between Sarafa XI and Dumb and Deaf XI. The crowd gave full support to Dumb and Deaf team. 

Batting first, Sarafa XI scored 81 in 10 overs. The Dumb and Deaf players never allowed their opponent to swing their bat and were bowling to the line length.

Gautam batted well to score 28 and other batsmen failed to pile up huge total. Abhishek bowled accurately to capture two wickets.

Chasing the target of 82, Dumb and Deaf XI managed to score just 42/8 in the allotted 10 overs. They lost the match but got full applause from the crowd and the organisors. The organisers felicitated the Dumb and Deaf XI for showing sportsman spirit to take part in the tournament.

The next match was played between Jai Bhavani Club Sunny XI. Club Sunny XI scored 61/7 in 10 overs. Sachin bowled well and captured three wickets. Amit Milane batted well for his team and scored 22.

Chasing the target of 62, Jai Bhavani surpassed the target in the last over of the match. The match was thrilling as it was anybody’s match until the last over. Jai Bhavni batsmen showed their patience, which helped them to surpass the required runs in 9.4 overs.
