Samajwadi Party Uttar Pradesh chief, Akhilesh Yadav, without saying anything about Amar Singh's "overconfidence" statement, said that the Firozabad loss was due to use of money power by the Congress, dangling carrot of tickets to contest 2012 UP Assembly election and transfer of BJP votes to Congress. He said Samajwadi Party was the only party that has complete internal democracy through its Party Parliamentary Board.

Akhilesh said this and more when newspersons prompted him on the comments that the party's national general secretary, Amar Singh made in New Delhi on Sunday. Though the press conference he held was to announce party candidates for election to Vidhan Parishad through local bodies.

Amar Singh in an interview to a television channel had said that it was due to the overconfidence of the Yadav family that they lost the vital Firozabad seat.

Amar Singh also had said that the party lacked internal democracy. To this Akhilesh said that there was mature internal democracy in the party. "In fact, we are the only party that has democracy in its function. We had powerful party Parliamentary Board that takes decisions."

Akhilesh made "I refuse to comment" on the statement and other comments of Amar Singh. Those questions were related to the Amar Singh's comment that the party did not care for his health when he was there for his kidney treatment. It was only his family by his side and not the party, Amar singh said.
