A day after Naxalites blew up a bus killing over 50 people in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district, an alert was sounded on Tuesday in Balaghat and Sidhi districts in Madhya Pradesh.
"An alert has been sounded in Balaghat and Sidhi districts following intelligence inputs that around 30 to 40 naxals have sneaked into these two places, which are close to Chhattisgarh," Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police S K Raut told reporters in Bhopal.
The police have been asked to keep a vigil in the two districts and carry out intensive patrolling, he said.
Raut informed that he has already talked to Balaghat Inspector General of Police C B Muniraju and IG (Rewa) G R Meena in this regard.
Muniraju told PTI that senior police officers were patrolling the sensitive areas of Balaghat district.
