So you are all set to tie the knot but as you gear up for the day, make sure you are well-groomed. Here are some tips for both the bride and the groom:
Skin: Concentrate on your hands and feet as these are exposed. Go for chocolate and soufflés pedicures and manicures, facials in gold, chocolate pearl and champagne and also coffee scrubs for your skin.
Hair: Start with taking care of basic problems like itching and dandruff. Treat your hair to almond oil massages to add shine and softness. “Hit the salon for a chocolate, coconut and orange twist — deep conditioning treatments to add moisturise and give a healthy glow to your mane,” says beauty expert Blossom Kochhar.
Spa treatment: You can also go in for exotic body wraps, scrubs, massages, quirky facials and bleaches. Treat your skin to coconut milk with turmeric powder and rice flour mixed with milk to nourish the body. The groom should get a complete exfoliation, hydration and moisturising treatment. There are also couple massages to enhance romance. “Performed by two therapists using special aromatic oils, these provide a unique experience to the lovers,” says Jesper Hougaard of Zen Serena Spa at The Metropolitan hotel.
Aromatherapy: There are mood swings and anxiety pangs before the wedding. A drop of lavender or basil oil can soothe the nerves. “For a sound sleep, a night before the wedding, keep a cotton swab with a drop of jasmine oil by your side,” says Dr Naresh Arora.
Make-up: Though red is still in, pink is becoming the trend in a palette of tones like old rose, fuchsia, baby pink, lilac etc. “Do up your eyes with gold mixed with dark shades like brown and burgundy,” advises Simmi Ghai. Grooms should use a concealer for dark circles and blemishes, and apply moisturiser mixed with foundation on their face for a natural glow.
