In an unprecedented move, the Allahabad high court has decided to discharge 11 judicial officers from service for indulging in violence.
The officers, who were undergoing a training at Lucknow's Judicial Training Institute, were involved in a fight during a farewell party in a hotel in Lucknow on September 8.
According to sources, a farewell party for the judicial officers had been organised at the institute. However, instead of attending that party, they went to a hotel on Faizabad road where the incident took place.
The entire episode of violence was caught on the CCTV camera placed in the hotel hall where the fight broke out and the officers were seen assaulting each other.
The issue reportedly first went to the administrative committee of the high court which then sent it to the full court after coming taking a decision.
A full court of Allahabad high court has also ordered the transfer of three senior judicial officers of the training institute.
