A large field of over 40,000 runners mostly from 700 schools across the country will compete in Salwan cross country race on Sunday, presented by HT.
When the entries were closed late in the evening on Saturday, the estimated number of competitors crossed 44,000 in all the eight categories, including the visually-impaired section.
But the most crowded events remains under-14 age group. In the visually impaired event around 1700 students will compete for top honours.
This year apart from slotting event for intellectually-challenged students, the organizers have marginally increased the distance of race in the under-14 and under-16 groups.
